Family of teen killed while being chased slams 'callous' killer

The family of a Perth teenager who died while riding a dirt bike has lashed out at the young driver who killed him.

Mitchell Chase, 15, died when his dirt bike hit a car in Aubin Grove in 2016.

He was being chased by Jude Francis, who was following him because he believed Mitchell was riding his stolen motorcycle.

The 24-year-old today pleaded guilty to manslaughter and will be sentenced in June.

The 15-year-old’s father told 9NEWS while the Chase family welcomes the guilty plea, Francis’ actions were “callous and cold”.

“Some people have said maybe it’s closure, but I don’t know what that means,” Wayne Chase said.

“It doesn’t make any difference to the sadness and grief we’re all experiencing.

“I’ll hopefully not waste any more time thinking of him, his name and hopefully that’s the last time his name is linked with my son,” Mr Chase said.
