Missing WA fisherman search called off

Police have called off the search for a missing man who was last seen at a rock fishing spot off Albany south of Perth.

Two people were reported to be struggling in the water at Salmon Holes just after 7.15am on Saturday.

Rescue crews found one man dead and conducted an extensive land, air and sea search for the second person along the treacherous coastline in severe weather over recent days.

On Tuesday police said the search for the missing man had been concluded despite not finding him.

A report will be prepared for the coroner.
