Man seriously hurt in Pilbara hit-and-run

A man is in hospital with serious injuries after being hit by a car whose driver fled the scene in Western Australia's Pilbara region.

The 50-year-old man was walking along a Newman street on Tuesday night when he was struck by that car.

He was found by a passer-by and taken to Newman Hospital.

Police are seeking information from any witnesses or people who know of a car with recent damage to it.
