Man 'was on fire' as he escaped from burning car in Perth

A 28-year-old man is fighting for life after being severely burnt in a serious crash in Perth last night.

The man was on fire as he ran for safety after the crash on Crystal Brook Road in Wattle Grove, according to reports.

He was travelling in a Toyota Camry with a 19-year-old female passenger, who was also seriously hurt.

Police said the crash started a small bushfire which was put out by firefighters.

The man is being treated at Fiona Stanley Hospital and the woman has been taken to Royal Perth Hospital.

The driver of the other car in the crash suffered minor injuries.
