Inquest planned for missing WA grandfather

A grandfather, whose family suspects he was the victim of foul play, will be the subject of an inquest later this year.

Danish-born labourer Jorn Jesper Jensen, 68, vanished after he was dropped off at his Ocean Reef home at 3.30pm on June 25, 2017.

His car was later found in Lancelin, about 100km north of his home.

On a website titled Justice 4 Jesper, he is described as a gentle giant, who was devoted to his late wife Gerri, two daughters and four grandchildren.

"I'd like to thank everyone for their support in helping me reach my goal of getting an inquest into my father's disappearance/murder," his daughter Belle Willemer wrote on Facebook.

"It's been a long road but this is a big step in seeking justice for my father.

"The support really has been overwhelming and my dad would be smiling from up above."

The WA Coroner's Court has listed the inquest for May 28.
