Gun-wielding man threatens WA mine staff

Mineworkers in West Australia's Goldfields region have been threatened by a man who fired a gun into the air.

Police allege the man and a companion, who have no association with the mine or any of its staff, drove from the nearby Mount Margaret Community to the site near Laverton on Wednesday.

One of them shot a gun into the air and threatened to harm staff before they drove off.

The man has been charged and will appear in the Laverton Magistrates Court next month.
