Get on electoral roll, Canning voters told

Eligible voters who live in the Canning division have until 8pm WST to get on the electoral roll.

The by-election was triggered by the sudden death of sitting Liberal MP Don Randall, who suffered a suspected heart attack last month after holding the seat for 15 years.

Candidate nominations close on Thursday and will be formally declared the following day.

The key candidates are former SAS commander Andrew Hastie for the Liberals, dispute resolution lawyer Matt Keogh for Labor, Curtin University lecturer Vanessa Rauland for the Greens and businessman Vimal Sharma for Palmer United Party.
