Fremantle Prison open for public ideas

The public have been invited to have a say on the future of Fremantle Prison.

A new plan is being developed to promote the World heritage listed site which welcomes almost 200,000 people a year.

The community have been invited to a workshop at the prison on Tuesday to generate ideas on how to build on existing tours and facilities.

"It is time to consider how we build on this great foundation to promote the ongoing use and sustainability of this great asset for future generations," Heritage Minister Albert Jacob said in a statement on Saturday.
