There’s been a frantic search in Perth’s south for a missing 63-year old Perth man suffering from advanced Alzheimer’s disease.

Kenneth Bland had last been seen at his North Fremantle nursing home around 6.30pm Thursday night.

Because of his condition, there were serious concerns for his safety, triggering a major search operation.

A control point was set up at a nearby football oval, with dozens of police and SES volunteers scouring the area - a tracking dog also was brought in to help with the search.

But after more than 14 hours missing, Mr Bland was found near a Yacht Club almost five kilometres away by a member of the public who alerted police.

He returned to the Regis Aged Care facility this morning, and police say he is safe and well.
