'Evil 8' accused seeks judge-alone trial

The last man to be dealt with by the courts in the so-called "Evil 8" pedophile case seeks to have his forthcoming trial heard by judge alone.

Alfred John Impicciatore, 47, has denied being part of the group of men who sexually abused a girl pimped out by her own father between the age of 11 and 13.

Impicciatore's lawyer Mara Barone lodged a 100-plus page application for a trial by judge alone in the District Court of WA on Thursday and the matter will return to court on August 14.
