A 74-year-old man has pleaded not guilty to raping a seven-year-old girl at a Christian mission in Western Australia's South West region in the 1970s.

Philip Howard Street was employed at the Roelands Mission in Collie when he allegedly abused the girl in 1974 and 1975.

Street appeared in Bunbury Magistrates Court on Monday where he pleaded not guilty to two counts of rape and four counts of indecent dealings with a child.

He had his bail renewed and is scheduled to appear in court again on August 3.

Street was charged following allegations heard by the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse.
