Misleading information given to WA parliament by Troy Buswell's chief of staff is being investigated to see if it qualifies as breach of privilege and contempt.

A Corruption and Crime Commission report last week concluded Rachael Turnseck engaged in misconduct by providing misleading information about the former treasurer's late-night car crashes as he drove home from a wedding in February 2014.

On Tuesday, Legislative Council president Barry House agreed to a call by Labor's upper house leader Sue Ellery for the matter to be referred to the powerful Standing Committee on Procedure and Privileges.
