Charges dropped against WA top cop's son

The son of the West Australian police commissioner has had two assault charges against him dropped.

Russell O'Callaghan admitted in October to three violent offences against a woman, pleading guilty to assault causing bodily harm, indecent assault and threatening to kill.

On Monday, two charges of common assault were dropped in Perth Magistrates Court.

O'Callaghan, who is in Casuarina Prison, still faces charges of breaching a violence restraining order and breaching protective bail conditions and will face court again next year.
