Charges after boy flung from moving car

A man has been charged after a four-year-old boy was ejected from a car that was allegedly being driven recklessly at a remote Aboriginal community.

The boy was unrestrained and was struck last Friday after he fell from the vehicle in Wangkatjungka, near Fitzroy Crossing in WA's far north, and suffered life-threatening injuries.

The driver, who was unhurt, has been charged with dangerous driving occasioning grievous bodily harm, driving without a licence and driving an unlicensed vehicle.

The 30-year-old has been summonsed to appear in the Fitzroy Crossing Magistrates Court on May 26.
