Man woken up to car crashing into home

Powered by

Bricks have come crashing down around a Perth man after a car crashed into his living room while he slept on the couch.

Police say the female driver was trying to outrun officers at the time.

The SES put tarp up across what used to be the Carlisle home’s front wall.

A 23-year-old man was sleeping at the time, before he was hit in the head and the leg by a flying brick which caused some minor bruising.

Three others were sleeping inside the home at the time who say it sounded like lightning when the wall was struck.

It happened at about 2:30am this morning – witnesses say they saw a white Mazda speeding between traffic near Shepperton Road in Victoria Park.

Police had tried to pull the car over but the driver had allegedly sped off before losing control and crashing into the house.

The 23-year-old female driver failed a breathe test and has been charged with reckless driving and failing to stop, and will face court at the end of the month.
