Car crashes into WA aged care facility

A woman has ploughed her car into the kitchen of an aged care facility unit in Western Australia's south, and police are investigating whether alcohol was a factor.

Police say the car failed to stop at an intersection and smashed through a large brick wall that forms the perimeter of the aged care facility on David Street in Albany, then continued into a courtyard and the rear of a unit about 10.30pm on Saturday.

No one was hurt but the 40-year-old driver was trapped inside by debris before being released and taken to hospital for assessment.
