AFL Dockers player in court over assault

Fremantle Dockers player Shane Yarran has appeared in a Perth court charged over an assault allegedly involving a family member.

Yarran, who previously told the football club he would plead not guilty, appeared in Fremantle Magistrates Court on Tuesday and is due back in court on February 7.

The 27-year-old made his AFL debut in round 18 after being taken by the Dockers as a mature-aged recruit.
