A prisoner has admitted to the jail killing of a Perth paedophile who was waiting to be sentenced for luring a little girl to his house.

Evan Martin, 42, told a court he was "very guilty" of the murder of fellow inmate Ashley Bropho.

The inmate, who appeared via video link from Casuarina Prison, then thanked the magistrate for their time.

Bropho was found unresponsive in his Hakea Prison cell on the morning of March 9.

He was set to be sentenced for abducting a young girl from a Doubleview park and taking her back to his house, where he kissed her and tried to perform a sex act.

Martin previously made clear his hatred for child abusers.

At Acacia Prison in 2020, he stabbed a 65-year-old paedophile, who had abused four young girls.
