Cargo ship leaves Perth following crew member's positive COVID-19 test
Western Australian Premier Mark McGowan has confirmed the cargo ship Allegra has set sail from Kwinana after a crew member's positive COVID-19 test was determined to be the result of a historical infection.
Speaking to media this morning, Mr McGowan said the crew member, believed to be in his 20s, may have been "shedding".
"That potential risk to Australia has been alleviated," he said.

Mr McGowan said the ship had departed Kwinana overnight and was last seen off Cervantes, north of Perth.
It was scheduled to head to Malaysia.
The crew member, believed to be in his 20s, had earlier returned a weak positive result after being taken off the ship and tested, following complaints of unrelated symptoms on Monday night.

But authorities later found he was exposed to the coronavirus in the Philippines more than a month ago and allowed him to return to the ship.
The government said there was no risk to Western Australian residents.
The remaining 22 crew members did not show any symptoms and all remained on the ship throughout the testing process.
