WA police officer charged over statement

A 24-year-old West Australian police constable has been charged with providing a false statement.

The alleged offence was committed between February 10 and 11 this year.

The officer, from the South East Metropolitan District, continues to work "in a fully operational capacity", WA police said and is due to appear in the Perth Magistrates Court later on Wednesday.
