Contractor killed in WA gold mine accident
A contractor has died in a workplace accident in Western Australia's Goldfields region.
The man was working underground at Silver Lake Resources' Daisy Milano gold mine, 50km south east of Kalgoorlie, when the accident occurred this morning.
The company issued a statement saying operations at the mine had been suspended while WorkSafe investigate the incident.

"An investigation into the circumstances of the contractor's passing is under way and the WA Department of Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety has been notified," the statement said.
"Underground operations at the Daisy Complex mine have been temporarily suspended in accordance with normal statutory requirements."
WA Department of Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety have launched a separate investigation alongside WorkSafe into the accident.
