WA election 'boost' for marriage equality

The federal government has no reason to delay legalising same-sex marriage now it has the support of every state and territory leader, advocates say.
Newly-elected West Australia Premier Mark McGowan has previously indicated he is in favour of marriage equality, unlike outgoing leader Colin Barnett who only publicly stated his personal support for civil unions.
"With all state and territory leaders now in support of marriage equality, there are no longer any excuses for federal parliament delaying the reform," veteran advocate Rodney Croome said in a statement on Sunday.
