Western Australia bushfire contained, not controlled

A bushfire in Western Australia has been contained but not yet controlled.

The fire at Perup and Wilgarrup River Valley is 25km east of Manjimup.

It started on farmland north of the Muir Highway on Thursday and has burnt 270 hectares.

No lives or homes are at threat but the Department of Parks and Wildlife is warning nearby residents to be aware of the conditions.

Smoke is also affecting the area.

Frosty and Topanup roads and forest tracks in the fire area have been closed.
