Violent home invasion in Adelaide’s north

An Adelaide man has told how he was set upon by two armed intruders, who forced their way into his home.

Kieth Edwards was asleep inside his Davoren Park home early this morning, when he was confronted by two men around 12.30am.

"I got woken up ... with two people in my house, one holding a bar," Mr Edwards told 9NEWS.

"He was threatening to use it on me and talking about a motorbike that doesn't exist.

"I tried to tell him there was nothing there and he just pretty well ran amok on me.

"I did what I could to defend myself."

Mr Edwards was treated for head and facial injuries before being discharged from Lyell McEwin Hospital this morning.

The violent attack has left his three daughters furious.

"Horrible, disgusting, it's pathetic honestly, " Mr Edwards' daughter Alicia said.

Police attended the scene and seized evidence, including a metal pole they believe was used to assault Mr Edwards.

Investigations are continuing, but at this stage officers believe the men are known to Mr Edwards and it was a targeted attack.
