Fights down at violent venues following NSW lockout laws: report

The NSW government will today hail its lockout laws a success after fights and attacks reportedly dropped by 39 per cent across pubs and clubs on the violent venues list.
Deputy Premier Troy Grant will release the figures today, News Corp has reported.
The figures show violent incidents at the venues in question decreased from 300 in 2013-14 to 182 in 2014-15.
The decrease follows the introduction of 1.30am lockouts and 3am last drinks at all licenced venues in the centre of Sydney.
Just two establishments, Sydney's The Ivy and the Beachcomber on the Central Coast, remain in the highest category of violent venues, with nine venues in category two.
No data has yet been released about the overall rate of violent incidents in other venues across NSW.
