NRL superstar Mitchell Pearce's future in doubt after video emerges of lewd act at Australia Day party

State of Origin player Mitchell Pearce has been filmed simulating a debaucherous act on a dog at an Australia Day house party.

In the video, a clearly inebriated Pearce is seen making advances towards a fellow partygoer and then urinating on himself.

After being rejected by the woman, he can be seen turning his attentions to a Maltese terrier - repeatedly simulating a lewd act on the small dog.

The dog's owner repeatedly pulls the pet off Pearce, with the Sydney Roosters captain picking it up and performing the lewd act again.

"I wanna f--- a dog, I don't even care anymore," Pearce said.

"I care. You've peed on my couch, you've peed on yourself. Get the f--- out," the party host then said.

Pearce is then seen being led out of the party with a crowd of people.

Earlier in the day, Mitchell Pearce uploaded an image to Instagram on his way to a Sydney Harbour boat party.

In the image, he tagged fellow Sydney Roosters players Joe Burgess, Joey Lussick, Connor Watson and Jackson Hastings.

The Roosters responded to the shocking vision tonight, saying they were "aware of an incident involving Mitchell Pearce".

"The Club will conduct an internal investigation and will be making no further comment at this time."

The NRL has asked the club for a report into the incident.

A spokesman said the Integrity Unit was aware of the matter, aired on Channel 9 tonight, and has asked the Roosters to investigate.

"The Integrity Unit will work with the Roosters to ensure the matter is dealt with appropriately," he said.

Animal welfare group the RSPCA NSW said it was "appalled" by the video.
