A young Victorian girl is in good spirits in hospital after she got her hand stuck in a slow grinding juicer, ripping off the tip of her finger.

Four-year-old Savannah Woodbury was making orange juice at home in Portarlington on Friday morning when her hand became trapped in the appliance.

Paramedics arrived and took Savannah, with the juicer still attached to her hand, to Geelong Hospital in a serious but stable condition.

She will undergo surgery on Friday afternoon to reattach the tip of her finger and check her tendons, a spokesman from Barwon Health told AAP on Friday.

Parents Anthony and Nelly Woodbury released a statement saying she was in good spirits.
