Woman narrowly avoids being hit by loose boxes as winds in Melbourne intensify
A woman has narrowly avoided being hit by a number of loose styrofoam boxes that broke free from a construction site during intense winds in Melbourne this morning.
The vision captured shows the woman franticly running down a road in Clyde North, south-east of the city's CBD.
Seconds later, several large airborne boxes fly in from behind the woman, narrowly missing her.

She manages to escape just before being struck.
The woman told 9News that although the boxes gave her "a good laugh", she also "ran for her life".
Extremely intense winds have continued to wreak havoc across Victoria this morning, bringing down trees, powerlines, stopping public transport and leaving tens of thousands without power.

The Bureau of Meteorology (BoM) has issued a severe weather warning for powerful winds, with gusts of up to 100km/h already recorded Melbourne and 143km/h in South Channel Island.

The State Emergency Service (SES) have received more than 600 calls for help and have responded to reports of more than 400 fallen trees so far.
Year 12 exams have been cancelled, sheets of steel have flown off roofs and residents have been told to stay indoors while dangerous conditions remain.
The freak conditions are set to last for several more hours yet.
