Young Vic driver caught 70km/h over limit

A young Victorian man whose learner licence was revoked has been caught speeding at 170km/h.

Police clocked the 21-year-old driving at more than 70km/h over the speed limit in a 100km/h zone.

They stopped the man, from Wyndham Vale, on the Bacchus Marsh-Geelong Road on Wednesday evening.

"Police intercepted the vehicle and discovered the driver was a disqualified learner," police said.

His ute has been impounded for 30 days under the hoon legislation and he'll be charged with multiple traffic offences.
