World War I medals stolen from a Melbourne home have been found in a drain.
They have been returned to the great grandson of a Gallipoli veteran who reported them stolen from his Collingwood home last month.

He now plans to wear them to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Gallipoli landing next year.
A council worker found the medals in a drain in Fitzroy and handed them in to police.
