Would-be thief charged in Vic

A hooded thief left empty-handed when a woman interrupted him after he broke into her Melbourne home.

Noticing the woman was awake, the 27-year-old Boronia man dropped the bag and fled the Bayswater home but was arrested in his car a short time later.

He was charged with aggravated burglary and attempted theft and bailed to appear in the Ringwood Magistrates Court on February 4.
