Wombat takes a nap in Melbourne garage

A sleepy wombat has snuck into a home in Melbourne’s south-east and taken a nap in its garage.

Renee Conroy told 9news.com.au said she woke up this morning to find the sleepy creature in “the middle of the garage” of her Endeavour Hills home.

A photograph she took shows the peaceful animal curled up behind a wooden post.

“When (the wombat) saw me, he went and hid under the shelves behind boxes,” Ms Conroy said.

“It’s rare to see a wombat in a suburban garage.”
