Woman assaulted in Vic festival mosh pit

A woman has reported being sexually assaulted at a music festival in Victoria's Gippsland.

The woman says she was approached from behind by an unknown person and assaulted while she was with friends at Tarwin Meadows in the mosh pit near the stage of heavy metal music festival UNIFY about 10pm on Friday.

The victim, who was surrounded by people and unable to see the offender, immediately left the area and notified police.
