Victorians accused of supporting terrorism

TERROR THAT HAS TOUCHED VICTORIA

* Numan Haider, 18, was fatally shot outside a Melbourne police station in September 2014 after he stabbed two counter-terrorism officers. This week a Victorian Coroner adjourned the inquest into his death to gather more information from state and federal police.

* Sevdet Ramadan Besim, 19, of Hallam, will face trial in the Victorian Supreme Court accused of plotting an Anzac Day terror attack in Melbourne last year that would have included beheading a police officer. He has pleaded not guilty to four charges.

* A radicalised 17-year-old from Melbourne who had bomb-making materials under his bed will face a plea hearing in June after he pleaded guilty to a single charge of engaging in an act in preparation for, or planning, a terrorist act last year.

* Amin Mohamed, 25, was found guilty last year of three charges of attempting to join the conflict in Syria in 2013. Following his arrest in Sunshine West, he told authorities he was travelling to Turkey en route to meeting his fiancee in Denmark.

* Hassan El-Sabsabi, of Seabrook, will stand trial after he pleaded not guilty last year to seven charges of making funds available to terror groups Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant, and Jabhat al-Nusra. He also pleaded not guilty to 11 charges under the Foreign Incursions and Recruitment Act.

* Adam Matthew Brookman, 40, a nurse and father of five is in custody awaiting a committal hearing on two terror charges. He is accused of knowingly providing support to IS by undertaking guard duty and reconnaissance in 2014.
