Two men shot in country Victoria

Two men have been shot, including a man riding a bicycle, in separate incidents in country Victoria.

A 43-year-old is fighting for life after being shot in the upper body during a fight in Tatura.

He was shot about 1pm and has been flown to hospital in Melbourne, police say.

They believe he and another man were involved in a dispute before the incident and they are interviewing a 54-year-old Tatura man.

About the same time, 140km east in Everton, a 72-year-old man was also shot in the upper body while riding on the Myrtleford-Everton Rail Trail.

Paramedics took him to hospital and he was then flown to Melbourne with non-life threatening injuries.

Armed Crime Squad detectives are appealing for witnesses.
