VICTORIA'S BUDGET: KEY REACTIONS

INFRASTRUCTURE

* Infrastructure Partnerships Australia - Melbourne Metro Rail Project will unlock capacity helping commuters across greater Melbourne

SPENDING

* Victorian opposition spokesman Michael O'Brien - a tax and spend budget that would even make Wayne Swan blush

JOBS

* Victorian Trades Hall Council - "jobtastic", will put Victoria back to work

* Victorian Chamber of Commerce - will create more jobs and improve the liveability of the state for all

HEALTH

* Victorian Healthcare Association - happy pressure on its workforce has been recognised but disappointed there isn't more investment into illness prevention and IT infrastructure

CRIME AND CORRECTIONS:

* Victorian Greens and the Federation of Community Legal Centres - more sustained investment needed to help thousands with legal problems

SOCIAL ISSUES

* Victorian Council of Social Service - measures around crisis accommodation and social housing welcome but an overarching housing policy should be a key priority

* Domestic Violence Victoria - now the state has invested in fighting family violence, it's time the federal government steps up
