Victorian driver robbed at knife-point

A man has been robbed at knife-point after being pulled over in central Victoria.

A 28-year-old South Morang man was heading south on the Hume Highway at Beveridge, between 12.40pm and 1pm on Monday, when an old, black Holden sedan behind him flashed its lights, police say.

One of the two people in the car, a man and woman in their 20s, held a credit card out the window.

Thinking he had left his card at a nearby petrol station, the man pulled over.

But when he wound down his window, the woman allegedly leaned in the window, took his keys from the ignition and threw them away.

The man then opened the passenger door, allegedly threatened the victim with a knife and stole cash, slashing the car's two passenger-side tyres before driving away.
