CFA chief executive officer Lucinda Nolan has resigned, effective immediately.
Ms Nolan, a former Victorian police officer and the first female CEO of the CFA, announced her resignation on Friday afternoon.
It comes after the CFA board was sacked by the state government because it refused to sign off on a controversial pay deal with the firefighters union.
