VICTORIAN BUSHFIRE WARNINGS:

WHERE

* Benloch, Pastoria East, Pastoria, Nulla Vale, Baynton, Baynton East, Sidonia and Emu Flat

* Fire is slow moving and milder conditions have reduced fire behaviour, but it is still out of control and active in some areas.

RESOURCES

* Bulldozers used to create a track around the fire's perimeter.

* 300 firefighters, backed by 10 fire-bombing aircraft.

* 150 firefighters on scene overnight

ROADS TO AVOID

* Burke and Wills Track closed between Baynton Road and Mission Hill Road.

* Mission Hill Road and Emu Flat-Baynton Road are closed.

* Malones Road and Martins Road are closed.

ROADS REOPENED

* Three Chain Road in the fire-affected area is now open.

* Oakleys Lane is now open and Mooneys Track is accessible by local traffic only.

DAMAGE

* Two properties lost.

* 2700 hectares burning.

* There is spotting ahead of the main fire.

EMERGENCY WARNING

* Benloch, Pastoria East, Pastoria, Nulla Vale, Baynton and Emu Flat: too late to leave.

FORECAST

* Partly cloudy. Medium (60 per cent) chance of showers in the afternoon and early evening.

* Chance of a thunderstorm in the morning and afternoon. Light winds becoming northeasterly 15 to 20km/h in the morning then becoming light in the middle of the day.

* Overnight temperatures falling to about 10C with daytime temperatures reaching the mid-to-high 20s.

* Fire danger low to moderate.

* Community meetings will be held in Lancefield on Friday at 2pm.
