Victoria teenager critical after truck hit

A teenage girl is in a critical condition after she was hit by a truck in Melbourne.

Police said she suffered life-threatening injuries after being hit while she was walking at Police Road in Mulgrave about 3.15pm on Thursday.

She was taken to the Alfred Hospital with head and chest injuries.

The driver of the truck stopped and was assisting the investigation, police said.
