Victoria police officer on assault charge

A Victoria Police transit officer has been charged with recklessly causing injury and assault, but the force will not reveal when they're due in court.
The location of the magistrates court that will deal with the leading senior constable, and the officer's gender, have also not been made public.
"The Leading Senior Constable from Transit and Public Safety Command has been charged with recklessly cause injury and unlawful assault," Victoria Police said in a statement on Tuesday.

"The charges relate to an incident in December 2018 whilst the member was off duty.
"The senior constable has been summoned to appear at court at a Magistrates' Court at a later date and has been transferred to other duties."
