Car smashes into Melbourne pharmacy

A four-wheel-drive has crashed into the front of a pharmacy Melbourne’s east this afternoon.

Emergency services were called to the store on Boronia Road, Boronia, about 2.30pm.

Images captured by the 9News helicopter show the black coloured vehicle wedged in the storefront, with shattered glass covering the footpath.

The 69-year-old female driver and her 71-year-old male passenger avoided injury, police said in a statement.

The chemist’s window, counter and products have been damaged.

It remains unclear what caused the crash.
