Hot air balloon makes emergency landing on Melbourne beach
A hot air balloon made a surprise landing on a Melbourne beach early this morning.
It came down near the St Kilda foreshore on Beaconsfield Parade just before 7am, sailing above cars travelling along the beachside strip.
Concerned residents captured the unlikely landing on camera, with one witness telling 3AW that the passengers on board looked "stressed".

"People were hoping out of the basket and comforting one another," witness Eleanor told 3AW.
"They were really really lucky that the road wasn't too busy."
No one was injured in the incident.
Earlier this year, residents living Elwood watched on in shock as a hot air balloon carrying 12 passengers crash-landed in the carpark of a unit complex.
