Vic woman stands trial for killing ex

A Melbourne woman has pleaded not guilty to the stabbing murder of her ex-husband, citing mental impairment.

Renee Louise Nolan, 69, appeared via videolink in the Melbourne Magistrates' Court on Wednesday, where she was ordered to stand trial for murdering Harold Nolan, whose body was found by police in a bed at his Mitcham unit last October.

Nolan entered a plea of not guilty by way of mental impairment, and is due to face a Victorian Supreme Court trial directions hearing on Friday.
