Vic woman critical after found at home

A woman with life-threatening injuries has been found in a Melbourne apartment after she stopped responding to her family's phone calls.

Officers found the woman with "assault-like" injuries at Coburns Road, Melton on Monday evening, police said.

A property on the same street was searched early on Tuesday morning, and a man at the property is being questioned.

The injured woman is in Royal Melbourne Hospital in a critical condition.
