Vic trio accused of $8m tax fraud bailed

Three men arrested over an alleged $8 million tax fraud conspiracy at a suspected off-the-books cash arm of a national security company have been released on bail.

Julian Milla, 44, Chris Georgiou, 41, and Harry Korras, 40, were each charged with one count of conspiring to dishonestly cause a loss to the Australian Taxation Office.

They were granted bail in the Melbourne Magistrates Court under the condition they not leave the state or contact their co-accused.

Three others have already been charged over the alleged conspiracy involving money laundering and organised crime links, after the year-long multi-agency police probe.

Milla of Reservoir, Georgiou of Airport West and Korras of Maribyrnong must all report to their local police stations as a condition of their release.

The arrests follow a series of police raids on businesses and homes in October last year.

Police seized documents and computer records for analysis, and the company's corporate security licence was suspended.

After its licence suspension, the business was sold to another security provider, which has no links to the alleged illegal activity.

The trio arrested on Thursday have appeared in the Melbourne Magistrates Court charged with conspiracy to cause a loss to the Commonwealth from 2013-2014.

They have been bailed to reappear on June 18.
