Vic train, truck crash injures two

A train has derailed in central Victoria after being hit by a truck, injuring two passengers.

The V/Line train from Swan Hill was headed for Bendigo when struck by a truck at a level crossing at Woodvale just before 3pm, police said.

Two train passengers were taken to hospital with minor injuries.

The crash forced the closure of the line for several hours and police are investigating the cause of the collision.

The level crossing was on a dirt road with no boom gates, a Victoria Police spokeswoman said.
