Vic toddler killer to be sentenced

A man who killed his partner's misbehaving preschooler son will be sentenced on Friday.

Brok Ronald Hughes, 26, of Glenroy, was initially charged with murdering Zane Bradbury just a month shy of the boy's fourth birthday but pleaded guilty to the lesser charge of manslaughter and two charges of intentionally causing injury.

Zane died in hospital in May 2014 after Hughes threw him onto a bed in their Glenroy home for "being a little terror", causing the boy to bash his head against a wall.

He will be sentenced in the Victorian Supreme Court by Justice Michael Croucher.
