Vic spends $5m to tackle family violence

Victoria is spending more than $5 million to help tackle family violence, particularly against woman with disabilities.

The government says $3.8 million will go towards work with organisations including councils, sporting groups and local businesses, and $1.48 million over four years to help prevent violence against disabled woman.

"This funding will support our local communities and their workforces to better understand what drives violence against woman, and ultimately prevent it from occurring in the first place," Prevention of Family Violence Minister Natalie Hutchins said in a statement on Tuesday.
