Vic soldier robbed of medals

Medals belonging to a soldier who served in Iraq and Afghanistan have been stolen from a Melbourne home.

Police say two men broke into the 33-year-old's Newport residence while he was at work on March 29.

They ransacked the house before stealing an Afghanistan Campaign medal, Iraq Campaign medal, Australian Defence Medal and a NATO medal issued by the French government.

The pair, who also stole computers, a video game console and jewellery, were seen fleeing with a backpack.
